Cheryl Colletti (America), looking for info on Charles Organ b. between 1820-1845 (location unknown.) Married Emily Rodd prior to 1870; had two daughters. Charles and Emily divorced in Tomah, WI. Charles married Mary Ackerman in Tomah, WI. Charles died in Monroe Co., Wisconsin. I would like like to find out the names of parents and siblings. Thank you.

Daniel J. Organ (Yakima, Washington, USA), would like to learn more about his GGGrandfather, Garrett Organ, who emigrated from Waterford (Ireland) to Stillwater, Minnesota, America in the 1850's, and is trying to gather information about his life in Ireland and reasons for leaving.

Shirley Webb (America), searching for John Organ, one of Virginia's Colonial Soldiers. The 1756 and 1757 rosters of colonial soldiers enlisted with the Virginia Regiments has the description of a JOHN ORGAN who may be my ancestor and the father of Samuel Organ of Halifax County, VA. This JOHN ORGAN is described thusly: "Size Roll of Capt. Mercer's Company, 2 Aug 1756: John Organ, enlisted 10 Dec 1754 from Amelia County; age 24, 5' 5" tall; Occupation: carpenter; born Virginia; physical description: fair complexion, low, well set, fresh looking, smooth face." "Size Roll of Col. George Washington, 28 August 1757: John Organ, enlisted Dec 1754 from Amelia Co; age 24, 5' 6" tall; Occupation: carpenter; born Virginia; physical description: fair complexion, brown hair, very well made" The occupation of "Carpenter" is of interest because this is a traditional occupation for over 8 generations of this Organ line. The above John Organ would have been the right age to have fathered Samuel Organ who was born about 1750. Samuel named his first-born son "John". Details on individuals are scarce when you get back to the mid 18th century and I have not been able to find any other record of the above John Organ. He isn't listed in property tax lists for Amelia County, VA, or Halifax County, VA. And doesn't fit into any of the other Organ families who were living in Virginia at this time. The above information on John Organ comes from "Virginia's Colonial Soldiers" by Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck, a highly regarded genealogist and head of the genealogy department for the Dallas Public Library. It was published in 1988.

Loree (nee Organ) HOLLIDAY (America), seeking info on a Samuel Organ born 175? died before 1813 in VA (possibly Halifax Co.) married in ab. 1770 to Sarah Simpson born 175? died after 1813 in VA, Nothing is known about Samuel's birth place. He is listed in Halifax Co. VA in the 1785 census and known to have had 12 children, some of whom moved to Wilson Co. TN. I am trying to find Samuel's parents, and eventually from where the line came into the U.S.

Mary-Ann HOLT (America), is wanting information on Thomas John ORGAN. He was in NJ in 1848 when he married Clarissa Halsey Conger in Morris Co. He used the name Thomas J. ORGAN. They were in IN in 1850 (census) with a baby girl, Agnes J. ORGAN. That was Wabash Co. Then, @1853 they were in Mud Springs (now the town of El Dorado), El Dorado Co., CA. No further mention of Agnes....Another dau, Mary Dayton ORGAN, was born. Then, Clarissa died in May of 1863. Thos. was in the 1870 census in Solano Co., CA but I can't find out what he was doing there. There was another ORGAN there, a pioneer, but the book that mentions him was missing from the library the day I was there. My thought is that it might have been a brother. Thomas moved to Alpine Co., CA, ran for district attorney., and lived the rest of his life there as district attorney. He died in 1878 in Markleeville, Alpine Co., CA. Somewhere along the line, he began calling himself Thos. J. ORGON.

Phyllis PARKES (America), has been working on this ORGAN family, and has been for several years:   Daniel ORGAN b. 1812 in KY. Maybe Jessamine Co. Married 1839 in Crawford Co., IL to Lavina DONNELL b. 1821 in Wilson Co., TN. Their children, all born in Illinois were: William b. 1839 Sarah b. 1841 James b. 1843 Ann b. 1847 Mary b. 1849 Elizabeth Ellen b. 1852 Dennis b. 1854 Dorthea B. 1858 I would like to find the parents of Daniel. One researcher I have been in contact with thinks his parents could have been William and Atha ORGAN. Or that Daniel's parents died and William, being his uncle and raised him.

John MORGAN (America), is also researching the above family:  Daniel W. Organ was born 12 Apr 1812 in Jessamine Co., KY. The only other Organ's identified in the area are William Organ (b. 25 Aug 1757), his wife Atha, and their children. My family history relates that Daniel told one of his grandchildren that he had been adopted. I have been unable to prove or disprove this info. Hence my dilemma. If Daniel is a son of William, I can trace back 3 more generations. If he isn't, I am at a loss.
